The UTM partners perform the pilot course about IT governance at the Université de Tunis El Manar

On October 9th to 10th, 2018 the pilot course took place at the University of Tunis El Manar where representatives of ITG4TU project in this university have been in charge of dictating this course.

Dr Samir Moalla and Dr. Abdelaziz Abdellatif presented the main aspects of Governance of IT: structures, standards and business strategy. The alignment of IT with business strategy aspect, the CIO role, and the importance of achieving this alignment regarding to the benefit of IT were highlighted. Moreover, the concepts of assets, and IT efficiency use in respect with strategy of HEI and the communities that it serves was highlighted. The course has been focused to promote IT governance principles and encourage interest among students.

IT Governance for Tunisian Universities

This project is aimed to gather a set of researchers from four universities with a wide experience in developing and deploying ITG framework models from 3 different countries (Spain, Germany and Norway) to develop, adapt and test a new ITG framework to be implemented in HEIs in Tunisia. Expected results of this project include a better governance model for IT in Tunisian HEIs as well as an overall modernization of the governance processes for HEIs and a contribution of the cooperation between EU and Tunisia.
