ITG4TU project partners make their first Best Practices visit to the University of Almeria

On 11th to 15th July, the ITG4TU consortium, with the participants of the second course of Initial Training Managers visited the University of Almeria (UAL) on the score of study Best Practices on IT Governance. The aim of the visit is to know first hand a real case study about a governance framework implantation based on ISO 38500 standard.

Participants from University of Gabes, University of La Manouba, University Tunis El Manar and University of Sfax were welcomed by the Vice Rector for Internationalisation, Julián Cuevas González, who explained in detail the UAL operation, its governance structure, its studies and infrastructure. After that, participants could visit the centralised library and the UAL Data Center.

This project is aimed to gather a set of researchers from four universities with a wide experience in developing and deploying ITG framework models from 3 different countries (Spain, Germany and Norway) to develop, adapt and test a new ITG framework to be implemented in HEIs in Tunisia. Expected results of this project include a better governance model for IT in Tunisian HEIs as well as an overall modernization of the governance processes for HEIs and a contribution of the cooperation between EU and Tunisia.
