On 13th to 17th November, the ITG4TU consortium, mostly with their internal team formation, visited the SRH Hochschule Berlin (SRH) on the score of study Best Practices on IT Governance. The aim of the visit is to know firsthand a real case study about a governance framework implantation based on ISO 38500 standard.

Participants from University of Gabes, University of La Manouba, University Tunis El Manar and University of Sfax were welcomed by Vladimir Stantchev, as a representative of SRH Hochschule, who explained in detail the SRH operation, its governance structure, its studies and infrastructure. Furthermore, the attendants took advantage of the visit to work on the framework to be applied in each Tunisian university and the current status of their IT governance. They could also learn about how the maturity level framework and presented tool can be used for Tunisian universities. Different activities and exercises were proposed by the animators to better understanding the status of the Tunisian partners and what are the first steps needed towards IT governance.

IT Governance for Tunisian Universities

This project is aimed to gather a set of researchers from four universities with a wide experience in developing and deploying ITG framework models from 3 different countries (Spain, Germany and Norway) to develop, adapt and test a new ITG framework to be implemented in HEIs in Tunisia. Expected results of this project include a better governance model for IT in Tunisian HEIs as well as an overall modernization of the governance processes for HEIs and a contribution of the cooperation between EU and Tunisia.
